It’s that time of year again… Council Applications are out now on AUinvolve!

If you’re looking for a way to get involved and serve Auburn, foster lasting friendships, and gain invaluable experience, consider applying for University Program Council’s 2016-2017 Council! Apps are due March 9th. 

University Program Council is an organization dedicated to creating an engaging atmosphere that enhances the Auburn experience by programming free events that are as diverse as the Auburn family that we serve. All UPC events are planned, organized, and executed by students for students. UPC is lead by an Executive Board as well as a Council of Directors and Assistant Directors who oversee the 10 different committees of UPC who plan and promote various events. Check out each committee’s page to learn more about the specific events they have the pleasure of programming!

Here’s a a breakdown in the differences of responsibilities between directors and assistant directors:

Committee Director

  • The management and direction of programming and supporting activities
  • Establish and maintain productive committee meetings
  • Maintain committee member attendance at meetings
  • Attend all director and committee meetings
  • Attend all committee events from setup to break down
  • Attend all Council meetings (alternating Mondays at 5:15pm)
  • Attend all Directors meeting (alternating Mondays at 5:15pm)
  • Attend all mandatory UPC events
  • Maintaining 5 office hours per week: Completing all necessary paperwork and documentation
  • Attend Committee Retreat (Fall TBA)
  • Attend UPC Leadership Training Retreats (Spring: April 15th (Executive Officers and Directors ONLY), April 16th – 17th (ALL), Fall: TBA)
  • Staff UPC Tiger Nights events
  • Other various responsibilities that present themselves

Committee Assistant Director

  • Assist the director with management of committee
  • Establish and maintain productive committee meetings
  • Attend all committee meetings and director meetings
  • Attend all committee events from setup to break down
  • Attend all Council meetings (alternating Mondays at 5:15pm)
  • Attend all mandatory UPC events
  • Maintain 3 office hours per week
  • Attend Committee Retreat (Fall TBA)
  • Attend UPC Leadership Training Retreats (Spring: April 16th – 17th,  Fall: TBA)
  • Staff UPC Tiger Nights events
  • Other various responsibilities that present themselves
